The most up-to-date methods

Our key competency is the disposal and recycling of electrical devices that contain PCBs, particularly transformers and condensers of all performance ranges. For this purpose we use the self-developed LTR² Method – Low Temperature Rinsing and Re-Use/Recovery; this is one of the worlds’ most advanced and safe methods for the treatment of devices containing PCBs.

PCB Disposal of all performance ranges

The method, which was developed by ABB, is based on the extensive knowledge of the ABB Group as the worlds’ largest manufacturer of transformers and one of the leading providers of technical services for transformers and condensers. Since its first appearance in the late 1980s, more than 20,000 transformers of all performance ranges have been successfully decontaminated using this method.

Implementable everywhere

The LTR² treatment system is modularly structured. The method is therefore suitable for use in countries where the infrastructure is not yet sufficient enough to cope with the treatment of PCB waste. Even in places that only have a small number of devices to be disposed of, the operation of the LTR² system is possible. In many cases this is more efficient than exporting PCB waste to be disposed of abroad.
